Ludovico Einaudi, born in Turin on November 23, 1955, is a renowned pianist and composer. He studied at the Conservatories of Turin and Milan and worked with Luciano Berio and Karlheinz Stockhausen. Einaudi gained international recognition with his 1996 album Le Onde, inspired by Virginia Woolf, and followed with albums like Eden Roc (1999) and I Giorni (2001). His film scores, including for Doctor Zhivago (2002) and The Intouchables (2011), cemented his prestige. His albums Divenire (2006) and Una Mattina (2004) bridged classical and pop music, reaching global charts.

He toured globally, including performances at iconic venues like the Royal Albert Hall, and composed for various films and theater productions. Einaudi’s 2013 album In a Time Lapse reflected his deepening exploration of time, while Elements (2015) and his 2016 Greenpeace commission Elegy for the Arctic showcased his commitment to nature and global issues. His 2019 project Seven Days Walking featured seven albums released monthly, and he also composed for the stage, including the opera Winter Journey.

Despite the pandemic, his music featured prominently in award-winning films like Nomadland (2021). Einaudi continued his creative journey with Underwater (2022), an album inspired by the quietude of lockdown, earning him the Opus Klassik award. His Underwater tour sold out at prestigious venues across North and South America, Europe, and Central Asia.

On January 31st, 2025, the new album “The Summer Portraits” will be released via Universal Records
